Head of Education (m/w/d)


Full responsibility for the strategic planning and execution of all educational activities in Germany in complete alignment with marketing and sales departments. The Head of Education steers the construction, development and technical competencies of the Davines education network in the field and maintains the community energized and inspired. Ensures the adherence to education standards in alignment with field sales, distributor partners as well as corporate departments to support business priorities through in-salon and virtual education activities.

Duties And Key Responsibilities

Business Management and development

  • Contribute to the implementation of the DNA Hair Care Division Strategy, plans, and measurement system
  • Implement Brand development activities that align with the strategic vision and the Davines education mission statement
  • Share best practices and Market feedback with the Global Education teams
  • Translate business goals into compelling key event Strategies, through leadership and partnership with the Marketing and Sales teams
  • Create education initiatives that support sales through consumer engagement, experience, and loyalty in all selling environments (virtual and/or in-person). Align such initiatives with product launches, key brand moments, and brand positioning

Planning and Financial Management

  • Plan, manage and monitor the education allowance and budget
  • Project and optimize the education allowance and budget while building brand awareness


  • Contribute to the development and ensure the implementation of Education and Training strategies for the Davines community, work closely with Global Education, Marketing and Sales teams
  • Manage and develop the functions and skillset of all members of the Education team (Technical Education Manager, Business Education Manager, Regional Education Managers, School Manager, Education Planning Manager)
  • Oversee education recruitment needs by territory
  • Recruit and develop brand education ambassadors and influencers
  • Support and continuously review processes and programs to improve professional training and propose improvement solutions where applicable
  • Implement tools to assess training opportunities to improve sales performance, in alignment with Global Education and in collaboration with sales team initiatives
  • Implement beauty education strategy including seminars, in-store, and digital learning
  • Implement and launch education tools for Salon Stylists through distributors
  • Partner with key functions to identify opportunities to drive sell-through in store for launches and key pillars
  • Maximize execution and exposure of Global Collections both in-salon and in digital
  • Align education content as part of the global planning initiatives by including consumer-facing information through cross-functional communication
  • Partner with our Creative Director and Events & Production team to define strategies for Virtual Experiences (Live Streams, Virtual Education and events, etc), define and measure KPIs to create seamless execution

Marketing & Commercial

  • Support field team in the execution of virtual & in-person events
  • Partner with Marketing and Sales to ensure salon services are developed and evolved based on business needs in connection with new launches, growth plans, consumer and industry trends, supported with clear and factual insight
  • Infuse Business and Marketing education for Salons to embrace and grow their business

Team management and coaching

  • Contribute to implementing talent strategies for the business in partnership with HR
  • Coach, support, and develop talent while working alongside the education team
  • Facilitate cross-functional teams’ integration, communication, and collaboration to cultivate what keeps Davines unique


  • 10+ years of experience in developing education content and support tools
  • A minimum of 3 year experience with hair color
  • Full understanding of effective education and training program practices with knowledge of competitive products/markets along with best sales practices (strong commercial sensitivity and awareness)
  • 2+ years of experience in leading teams, and passionate for coaching people
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Highly organized with ability to prioritize and manage deadlines
  • Self-Motivated and ability to take initiative
  • Creative thinker; detail-oriented and multi-tasker
  • Must possess the ability to build, foster and nurture strong relationships and gain the respect of members of the cross-functional and affiliate teams
  • Represent the brand in a positive way inside and outside the office, including during interactions with salon accounts, at sales meetings, and at education events & classes

  • Must posse strong presentation skills
  • Valid Hairdresser/Cosmetology license (is an advantage)
